About Jamila
Helping adults understand children and create emotionally safe environments where they can thrive.
I'm Jamila Jamal — a Counseling Psychologist, educator, and Child Wellbeing Advocate. For years I've worked alongside children, parents, teachers, and schools to navigate emotional, behavioral, and relational challenges. My core belief is simple: children flourish when the adults around them feel supported and equipped to respond with empathy.
As a parent raising a child with autism, this work is deeply personal. That journey has sharpened my understanding of inclusion, deepened my compassion for families, and reinforced my conviction that every child deserves to feel valued and understood.
I work beyond managing behaviour — toward understanding the needs and experiences beneath it. Whether counseling an adolescent, guiding a parent, or training teachers, my goal is always the same: healthier relationships and emotionally safe environments where children can flourish.
My vision
To contribute to a world where children are understood, families are supported, schools are emotionally healthy, and communities work together to promote the wellbeing of every child.
My mission
To empower parents, teachers, caregivers, and communities with the awareness, skills, and support needed to nurture emotionally healthy children and build stronger relationships.
My approach
My work is guided by the following principles:
- Every child deserves to be understood.
- Behaviour is communication.
- Emotional safety is essential for growth and learning.
- Supporting adults is one of the most effective ways to support children.
- Schools and families are partners in a child's wellbeing.
- Inclusion, dignity, and belonging matter for every child.
